How To Attract The Right Brands Through Photography www.sleeklens.com

In this day and age, social media platforms have made it so much easier to reach out to brands and companies with just a click or a few taps on your phone. As a photographer, this can be used to your advantage in many ways as you seek to build your clientele as well as developing a good relationship between multimillion dollar companies or a new business with a promising future. The big question is, how do we do this? Well in this article I will be giving you a few pointers I’ve learned myself as well as the knowledge I’ve gained from photographers who now work with Vogue, GQ and so on. In this day and age nothing is impossible, as a matter a fact, a lot of things have been made easier for use through the growth of technology and the strong interest companies are now taking into social media. Let’s be real, it’s 2018 and the first thing most of us do when searching for a business page is to head on over to Instagram, especially if we’re currently in that particular establishment. Some of do it to see what their following is like and others just to enjoy the aesthetic. These businesses enjoy having great content to capture the eyes of prospective customers and that is where your window of opportunity comes in. This then leads to our second question, how do I get them to acknowledge me? Well, Here are the answer your need

1. “Stalk” The Company

This might sound crazy but it’s what you need to do in order to gain some knowledge as to what it is they like in terms of image composition and style. Each company is different and what might work amazing for one brand, probably won’t do so well for the other. Stay updated on their recent postings as well as any new products or promotions they may have coming up. It’s always best to know your client before they even know much about you. Some pages follow a specific posting strategy in regards to what they post on each day of the week which also gives an insight to their style of posting and to an extent the demography they are trying to reach. So before you start taking any pictures and tagging them in it, just take the time to learn a bit more about them.

2. Invest In their Product

Most brands hesitate to give you anything free before they see what you have to offer and as a result, you may find yourself becoming a customer. It doesn’t have to be anything expensive for that matter but as long as it’s put in the right setting, you can make it whatever you want. The brand will also appreciate your investment and appreciation in their product as they begin to acknowledge you. This is the second step in creating a great relationship. Keep in mind there are many content creators or photographers out there who’ve used the product given to them by brands for personal reasons and not delivered the content they were promised. Therefore you need set yourself apart from them for the brand show some faith in you.

3. Get them to Acknowledge You

It’s now time to be all up in there face, well not literally but you get the point. Now that you’ve created some content with a product coming from their brand, it is now time to share. You have the option of posting the product in different settings while making sure to tag them in each post or do some digging to send an email with the photos you’ve taken. Both of these options may take some time depending on how often the brand checks their social media pages as well as how often do they interact with other customers. For example, I have seen many cases were I personally tag the brand in the image and I’ll most likely get alike but if they comment, it means so much more. It takes more time for them to comment than it does for them to just double tap and keeps on scrolling. This ultimately means that they spent some time on my page to see what I have to offer which is good news because it then motivates me to post and tag them in more of my content.

The option of emailing can work in your favor if you are persistent. One should keep in mind that there is a high volume of photographers and content creators like yourself who are trying to capture the attention of the brand as well. Therefore you should stay persistent as much as possible to do just a bit more than the next guy. It’s never a promise that the brand will pick you but your work will not go unseen.

I hope this article has helped you connect with your ideal brand through social media in the future. It best to try and fail than not to try at all. Until next time, Thank you for stopping by!
